The death certificate give his occupation as ‘Builder’s labourer’ but, as the address on the death certificate is the same as that in Davies’ Who’s Who entry and as the age at death is also consistent, this must be the death certificate for the M.P. Davies’ entry remained in Who’s Who until 1966 but he never received an entry in Who was Who. The report of the 1941 Labour Party Conference records his death in 1940 but does not give an exact date.
